It comes down to this.

[There's a tense edge in Kain's voice. He's not thrilled about this, but he's known the inevitable would be upon them eventually. The sound of Chaos' voice especially haunts him... and reminds him that he's nothing but a pawn for the darkness. It's all he'll ever be.]

[Here you'll mainly just see the dark and faintly reddish inside of Toothless's mouth for about a minute and a half. He has no idea what this crystal's for, but it's clearly not edible.
